Regular Full-time Programmer Analyst Supervisor
dependent upon experience
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under direction of the Application Development and Support Manager, supervises assigned staff working on multiple campus projects. Provides training; reviews staff performance; ensures high level of education and training of assigned staff; ensures staff members are cross-trained so each module has multiple personnel to support needs; reports project status to teams and/or manager. Coordinates designated projects and oversees implementation of applications (including major modification to systems); coordinates steps and timing of upgrades; assists with installation of hardware and software; performs related programming activities, including interface with other systems to meet user needs and changing business requirements. Attends regular meetings with users, programming staff and others to identify and discuss issues with development processes; attends training, workshops and seminars to remain current in field. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or directly related field; and four years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Requirement: Successful candidate must pass a background check. Skills and Knowledge: Project management experience; strong writing and communication abilities; strong knowledge of programming techniques in SQL, UNIX, C++, PLSQL and Oracle. Works well in a team environment; communicates technical concepts both orally and in writing using terminology that is understandable to diverse groups; works well with little or no supervision. Preferences: Experience with Sungard Banner in support of one or more modules is preferred. Prior supervisory experience; experience with Oracle forms, IAS and HTML desired. WORK SCHEDULE: This is an exempt position requiring a minimum of forty (40) hours per week, and may require a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the College or department.
