Regular Full-time Senior Research Analyst
$39,428 annually
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: One of the primary services provided by the Planning, Budget and Institutional Research (PBIR) office is to provide timely, accurate, and relevant data to enable improved decision-making. The Senior Research Analyst supports this through: • Under general direction, developing and maintaining reports-standard and ad hoc- for internal and external customers: o External customers include the New Mexico Higher Education Department (including DEAR reports and data files) and the U.S.. Department of Education (including IPEDS reports). o Internal customers include a variety of teams and departments. o Grants o Performance monitoring, etc. • Administering & interpreting campus wide surveys; • Developing processes to ensure data quality control; • Participating in special projects including forecasting, process improvement, and policy analysis; • Designing and conducting research projects to support internal and external decision making; • Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field and three years experience in performing statistical and demographic research and analysis; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Special Requirements: - Experience with Access or other data mining tools. - Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business, professional and technical journals, periodicals, procedures and regulations; write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; effectively communicate with, make presentations and respond to questions from a diverse group of managers, clients, customers and the general public. - A valid New Mexico driver’s license and successful pre-employment and vehicular background check. PREFERENCES: Master’s Degree in Statistics preferred. Higher Education experience. Banner software experience. Argos Software experience. WORK SCHEDULE: Normally forty hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and/or schedule may change according to the needs of the College. This position will be based at the Main Campus, however; may be reassigned to work at any of the College’s facilities based upon department needs. DATE OF EMPLOYMENT: Upon approval.
