Casual Tutor Pool
$10.96 per hour (will work on an intermittent basis for an indefinite period of time not to exceed 750 hours per year
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Casual pool tutors report to the Business and Information Technology Division Achievement Coach. Primary duty is individual and group tutoring of students in the areas of accounting and computer applications. Other duties may include conducting study groups; assisting in creating, distributing, maintaining and circulating study materials. Other responsibilities include staying current with CNM’s texts, materials and policies; publicizing tutor availability in classes and providing tutor contact reports and making recommendations for improving student learning. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of 18 hours of post-secondary course work required in accounting, English or computer application courses or equivalent certification, workshops, or training. Ability to relate to and instruct a non-traditional, diverse student population. PREFERENCES: Experience as a tutor or teacher of adult learners. WORK SCHEDULE: Hours to be determined between 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday. May be required to work flexible hours and at multiple campuses.
