Regular Part-time Instructors for Instructional Pool in ACCOUNTING (Number of openings dependent upon student enrollment)
Dependent upon class assignment and degree held.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach varied accounting courses using manual and computerized business applications. Meet the learning needs of a diverse student population. Prepare lessons, grade exams, and conduct office hours. Work effectively and cooperatively with Institute and Division personnel and committees. Assist in curriculum development and perform other related duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in accounting plus CPA certification with recent work experience in financial accounting or Bachelor’s degree in accounting with two (2) years recent work experience with financial accounting required. Demonstrated knowledge of accounting practices, procedures and applications. Hands-on knowledge of computerized accounting software applications. Ability to relate to and instruct a non-traditional, diverse student population. PREFERENCES: • Master of Accountancy or • Master of Business Administration (MBA) plus CPA certification or • MBA with at least 30 hours qualifying applicant to take the CPA exam (proof of this qualification may be required) • Minimum of one (1) year teaching experience at post secondary level with experience in developing methods to facilitate a diverse learning environment. • Skills and expertise in distance learning and creation and maintenance of web pages. WORK SCHEDULE: Evenings, Saturdays and Sundays, and days as assigned based as required by student enrollment and program needs. Assignments may be to any of the four campuses.
