EMERITUS ACADEMY


Position:  Casual Emeritus Academy INSTRUCTOR

Pay Rate:  Determined by Class/Workshop (No benefits or leave are eligible with this position. )

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the general direction of the Executive Director, Organizational Learning teaches non-credit short courses and/or workshops for the Emeritus Academy, with a focus on providing educational enrichment and community education. While there is a focus on the senior citizen population may include multi-generational learning opportunities.  Develops and presents short courses and/or workshops in any of the following categories: Humanities, Art, Communications, Health and Fitness, or General Interest.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Educational and/or experiential background appropriate to the proposed course/workshop topic(s).  Teaching experience preferred.  Ability to relate to and interact with a non-traditional diverse senior citizen and/or multigenerational population. 

PREFERENCES:

Significant knowledge of course/workshop topic content to develop program, coordinate and deliver instruction. Effective presentation and communication skills with a diverse population with special emphasis on understanding and relating to the instructional learning styles of senior citizens. 

WORK SCHEDULE:

Days, evenings, weekends, as class assignment requires.

DATE OF EMPLOYMENT:

Based upon approval and date of class.
