Position:  Regular Part-time Instructors for Instructional Pool in COMPUTER INFORMATION SYSTEMS – NETWORK ADMINISTRATION (Number of openings dependent upon student enrollment.)

Pay Rate:  Pay dependent upon class assignment and degree held

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reports to the Associate Dean for the Information Technology Department.  Responsibilities include: teaching CCNA and Linux Certification prep courses; creating and organizing a learning environment; communicating with supervisors, staff and employers; preparing reports and correspondence; maintaining course documents; following established guidelines for maintaining attendance and grade books; meeting course objectives; working within the prescribed conditions of the CNM collective bargaining agreement and employee handbook; serving on program, school, and college committees; participating in continuous quality improvement; and perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s degree in computer science or related field from an accredited educational institution or bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field from an accredited educational institution and certification/experience in two or more of the following areas:

  • Professional certification (national, regional or state);
  • Two years’ recent work experience in networking technology field;
  • Teaching experience in networking technology field at an accredited educational institution.

Demonstrated knowledge of Cisco, Unix, Linux, Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and Internet skills.  CCNA certification required.  Ability to relate to and instruct a non-traditional, diverse student population.

PREFERENCES:

Experience in developing courses; experience working with and relating to diverse populations; and postsecondary teaching/training experience preferred. 

WORK SCHEDULE:

Days, evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays as assigned based on instructional needs at multiple campuses.
