Regular Part-time Instructors for Faculty Pool in Basic Keyboarding/Computer Skills (Number of openings dependent upon student enrollment)
Dependent upon degree earned and class assignment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach Basic Keyboarding/Computer Skills classes; integrate computer applications as appropriate to the curricula; perform related duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree required in related field. One (1) year (full-time or equivalent) teaching or tutoring experience at the secondary or post-secondary level required. Additional related experience may be substituted for coursework. Working knowledge of current developments in Basic Keyboarding/Computer Skills instruction. Ability to use a variety of teaching methods. Ability to relate to and instruct a non-traditional, diverse, student population. Ability to explain complex subject matter at the developmental learners’ levels. Effective oral and written skills. Working knowledge of word processing software, email, and computer-integrated instruction. (Specific information addressing these requirements, including a list of related courses, must be addressed in the letter of interest.) PREFERENCES: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field. Community college experience. Advanced current knowledge of word processing software, email, and computer-integrated instruction. (Specific information addressing these preferred qualifications must be addressed in the letter of interest.) WORK SCHEDULE: Assignment based on instructional needs. Day or evening, including weekend, classes may be assigned at any CNM campus. DATE OF EMPLOYMENT: Upon approval.
