Regular Part-time TECHNICAL SUPPORT TECHNICIAN (1040-hours/year)
$14.25 per hour
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under minimal supervision, ensure lab is operational; provide supplemental lab assistance to students, faculty, and staff. Provide technical support in the installation, operation, maintenance and minor repair of computer hardware and software. May supervise one or more student employees. Team or Task Force participation is encouraged as well as participation in CNM opportunities for professional growth and development. Other responsibilities include participating in required tutor training sessions per term or term break; staying current with CNM’s materials and policies. Participation in the New Mexico Education Retirement Act (NMERA) is required of each CNM employee.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of 30 hours of post-secondary course work to include nine (9) hours in computer related courses; one-year experience in a related area; experience in the installation, operation, and resolution of computer software and hardware problems; knowledge of Windows operating systems and MS Office products. Ability to relate to and interact with a non-traditional, diverse employee population. PREFERENCES: Knowledge and/or experience of computer networking and various operating systems; Macintosh experience; webpage experience; multimedia experience; ability to work independently and in a team environment; experience as a tutor or teacher of adult learners. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and human relation skills with a diverse population; ability to relate one-to-one and in small groups utilizing a variety of teaching methods. WORK SCHEDULE: Twenty (20) hours per week during the hours of 7 am - 9:30 pm, Mon - Thur; 7 am - 5 pm, Fri; and 8 am – 5 pm Sat. Saturdays required. May be required to work multiple campuses.
