Students Shine at National SkillsUSA Championships

CNM students continued the college’s tradition of excellence at the 2008 National SkillsUSA Championships that were held June 23-27 in Kansas City, Mo. The event, which drew more than 5,000 students in 93 events, is the largest showcase in the nation for outstanding career and technical college students. CNM students won two gold medals, nine silver and one bronze, while seven others were top-10 finishers. Read more.

More CNM Courses and Programs on the Way to Rio Rancho
Beginning in the fall term, CNM will start offering a variety of courses at Rio Rancho Mid-High School, including a pathway to an associate’s degree in General Studies that will be transferable to all New Mexico four-year universities. The program can be completed in four terms and CNM will also offer a certificate in General Studies that can be earned in three terms. Foundation Director Appointed to Poverty Reduction Task Force
Robin Brulé, CNM Foundation executive director, has been appointed to Gov. Bill Richardson’s Poverty Reduction Task Force. The task force will develop specific recommendations for legislative, regulatory and infrastructure initiatives to reduce poverty and income inequality in New Mexico. Read more.
