Question: What Food/Refreshment Operations are Available on the South Valley Campus?
Answer:
  • Abuelita’s New Mexican Kitchen conducts food sales in the SV-10 foyer on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10:30 am to 1 pm during the Spring and Fall terms.
  • Vending machines and microwaves are located in both campus buildings.
  • A hydration station (filtered water dispenser) is located in the SV-10 foyer.
  • Present your CNM student ID for a 15% discount at Abuelita’s New Mexican Kitchen located just south of the South Valley Campus at 6083 Isleta Blvd. SW
  • Present your CNM student ID for a 15% discount at Matteo’s located at 6301 Coors SW.

Question:

Where Can I Study on the South Valley Campus?

Answer:
  • Room SV-51 is a study/eating area, equipped with a microwave oven.
  • Room SV-106 (Library Services) contains and study area. This room is equipped with a Dry Erase board that allows students to immediately print copies of note taken during group study sessions. Because other activity takes place in this room, it will not always be a quiet study environment. Students must sign in with a Student ID to use this room.
  • Room SV-107 (The Learning Center/Tutoring area) also can be used as a study area. This room is equipped with a Dry Erase board that allows students to immediately print copies of note taken during group study sessions. Because other activity takes place in this room, it will not always be a quiet study environment. Students must sign in with a Student ID to use this room.

Question: What Are Some of the Most Important CNM Policies I Should Know?
Answer:
  • NO Food or Drinks are allowed in any classroom or lab.
  • Selling food or other items is not allowed on any CNM campus.
  • Employee Handbook. Section XII-Other College Policies
    12.08 Children On Campus-CNM is a public institution for adults and has an obligation to its students to maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning at all times.  Therefore, the following policies shall govern children on campus:

A. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult at all times while on CNM property.

B. Children under the age of 15 may not be left unsupervised anywhere on CNM property.

C. Children may not accompany a parent or other adult to any class or lab.

D. Children left unattended on CNM property will be brought to the attention of the appropriate enforcement agency.

E. Children on CNM property under adult supervision are expected to behave in a manner that is not disturbing to other CNM patrons.
