Voters approved a measure to expand the CNM tax district to include northern Rio Rancho. The approval means CNM will move ahead with plans to build a campus in Rio Rancho on 40 acres near the City Center.

The Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office called the election a win for CNM on Nov. 15. Sixty-five percent of voters in northern Rio Rancho approved the measure. In-district voters approved the measure with 81.5 percent of the vote. Both in-district and out-of-district voters had to approve the initiative for it to pass.
