Beth Pitonzo has worked at Mt. Hood Community College since 2001 and has served as Associate Chief Academic Officer/Dean of Science there since July 2006.
In her career Pitonzo has worked as an associate vice president, a dean, an associate dean and a faculty member.
In addition to her current position, her experience includes: Interim executive dean of instruction (July 2004-June 2006), dean of science (Aug. 2002-June 2004) and associate vice president of instruction (Sept. 2001-June 2004) at Mt. Hood Community College; associate dean of health sciences (July 2000-Aug. 2001) and faculty (1991-93, 1996-2000) at the Community College of Southern Nevada; and faculty at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (1990-91, 1992-95).
Pitonzo holds a doctoral degree in biological sciences with an emphasis in microbiology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She earned a bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory sciences from the University of Nevada, Reno, and an associate degree equivalent in clinical laboratory sciences from the University of Utah.
