Candidacy Deadline for CNM Governing Board Elections Approaching
Voters living in the CNM District, which includes all of Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and Corrales, will go to the polls on Feb. 3, 2009, to elect Governing Board members in Districts 1, 3, 5 and 7 for the next four years.
To appear on the ballots, candidates for the Governing Board must submit their candidacy to the Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office on Dec. 16 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Write-in candidates must submit their candidacy before 5 p.m. on Dec. 30.
In general, the district boundaries are:
• District 1—midtown Albuquerque, bounded by Montgomery on the north, central on the south, Eubank on the east and Carlisle on the west
• District 3—Albuquerque’s West Side, north from I-40 and west from Coors Boulevard, and all of Rio Rancho
• District 5—mid- and downtown Albuquerque south of Central and west of Carlisle to Coors Boulevard, and the south valley to Rio Bravo Boulevard
• District 7—the far northeast heights, north of Montgomery and east of San Mateo to the Bernalillo County line
