CNM Hosts First Support Services Fair for Students Who Are U.S. Military Veterans
In a continuing effort to support the success of U.S. military veterans at CNM, the college will host its first Veteran Support Services Fair on Tues (Nov. 10) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Main Campus in the Student Services Center. CNM has a large and growing number of students who are military veterans. More than 900 CNM students are either veterans or dependants of veterans.
The event is open to the public.
Many local veterans organizations and associations are scheduled to attend the fair to inform veterans of support services, as well as some local employers who give much consideration to hiring veterans.
Many veterans are eligible to apply for educational benefits that provide them easy access to quality education at CNM. The college has its own team of staff members dedicated to supporting veterans and they will be available to help veterans access a variety of educational benefits.
Some of the organizations that are scheduled to attend include: NM Veterans & Family Support Services; NM Department of Veterans Services; CNM Special Services; CNM Student Veterans Club of America; NM Department of Workforce Solutions; the Vet Center; the V.A. Medical Center of Albuquerque; the City of Albuquerque; the Albuquerque Police Department; and Presbyterian Hospital.
