CNM No. 1 in Nation in Conferring Associate Degrees to Native Americans; No. 2 for Hispanics; No. 6 Overall
Sept. 21, 2016 -- Every year, Community College Week reviews U.S. Department of Education data to compile its national list of Top 100 Associate Degree producers. In its just released 2016 Top 100 (which reviews the most current figures available from the 2014-15 academic year), CNM ranks No. 1 among all community colleges and associate degree-granting universities in the country for the number of associate degrees earned by Native Americans, and No. 2 among all community colleges (No. 5 when associate degree-granting universities are included) for associate degrees earned by Hispanics.
Sept. 16, 2016 -- CNM has launched a comprehensive new software system that will help students stay on track to graduate through a variety of valuable features.
Sept. 15, 2016 – Many CNM associate degrees are transferrable to universities around the state.
September 14, 2016 -- CNM has received a $50,000 grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to expand the IGNITE Community Accelerator. The program provides focused education, training, mentoring, coaching and leadership to help early-stage businesses develop an action plan, financial structure and customer base to ensure the highest probability of future success.
Sept. 12, 2016 -- The fourth-annual UNM/CNM Mobile App Contest is underway. The contest provides students the opportunity to develop and apply coding skills to make useful applications for mobile devices.
Sept. 2, 2016 -- All campuses will be closed and no classes will be held on Monday, Sept. 5, in honor of Labor Day.
August 30, 2016 -- Four CNM employees were presented with the 2016 PNM Employee Awards for outstanding contributions to the college during the 10th annual CNM Convocation on Aug. 26.

August 30, 2016 -- Four CNM students are among the 328 scholars from around the country who will be attending a four-day NASA-sponsored workshop in September and October. The training is a program of NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS).

Aug. 25, 2016 -- The College & Career High School, a partnership between Albuquerque Public Schools and Central New Mexico Community College, was the only high school in the state to earn “A” grades in all eight categories of the New Mexico Public Education Department’s annual school grading report that was released last week.
August 17, 2016 -- The School of Health Wellness and Public Safety is launching a new Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program this fall at the Westside Campus. A new class of 16 students will be admitted to the program each fall term.
August 17, 2016 -- CNM Ingenuity and Centria Healthcare are teaming up with the goal of training enough people to fill a projected 300 new jobs in New Mexico.
Aug. 9, 2016 -- CNM is launching a new software development and programming bootcamp – Deep Dive .Net – that will focus on software development for the widespread Microsoft-based “.Net” platforms.
August 4, 2016 -- A new component has been added to the CNM Nursing program. Second term nursing students are now going into the community to conduct free health assessments as part of their required clinical rotation experience.
August 3, 2016 -- After CNM reading instructor Jennifer Adams donated a kidney to one of her students two years ago, she became determined to get in the best shape of her life. She began exercising, running and kickboxing regularly.
