Feb. 21, 2014 -- On Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., CNM will hold a recycling awareness event that will feature a trash-littered shrine to recycling awareness – Mount Trashmore.
Feb. 17, 2014 -- The CNM STEM-UP Program is hosting a STEM Orientation for all students currently pursuing or interested in pursuing a STEM degree, such as biology, chemistry, engineering, nutrition and physics degrees.
In honor of Presidents Day, no classes will be held on Monday, Feb. 17. All campuses will be open on Monday, but the tutoring centers and computer labs will be closed. The libraries will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday.
Feb. 14, 2014 -- CNM is inviting you to provide comments about the college for its periodic evaluation by the Higher Learning Commission. The deadline to submit comments is April 7.
Feb. 12, 2014 -- The New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange (NMHIX) will be hosting an event at CNM’s Main Campus on Thursday (Feb. 13) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to inform students about new, affordable health insurance options.
February 11, 2014 -- Ten CNM students were recently among those named to the Phi Theta Kappa New Mexico All-State Academic Team and will each receive a $15,000 scholarship. They were recently honored at the New Mexico Legislature.
Feb. 10, 2014 -- Several members of CNM’s Deans Council spent Sunday afternoon volunteering their time with Ronald McDonald House Charities of New Mexico’s Teen Ambassadors.
Feb. 7, 2014 -- CNM’s longstanding Tax Help New Mexico program provides free tax preparation service for people whose household income was $52,000 or less in 2013 or those who are 65 years or older. Sites are now open through the tax filing deadline across the state.
Feb. 6, 2014 -- CNM’s College & Career High School will host an Open House for community members, as well as current students and their families. Attendees will learn about what’s ahead for the promising dual-credit high school and can meet the teachers and staff.
Feb. 3, 2014 -- The 2014 RecycleMania Tournament has begun, with more than 600 colleges and universities around the country and Canada vying for recycling greatness. CNM is competing in the competitive “Grand Champion” category against 84 other colleges and universities.
January 31, 2014 -- CNM student Alexxandria (Lexy) Snell may not be venturing into space, but she will soon be helping people get there. The Aviation Maintenance major was offered a coveted summer internship with Virgin Galactic in Mojave, Calif., doing what she loves – repairing aircraft.
Jan. 29, 2014 -- The public’s appetite for high-quality food trucks continues to grow around the country and CNM has responded by letting Culinary Arts students get in on the craze, thanks to a partnership with the Street Food Institute.
Jan. 27, 2014 -- For every $1 saved by eligible, selected CNM students, $4 will be added to the students’ Individual Development Accounts (IDAs) as part of a scientific study on saving.
January 23, 2014 -- The CNM Workforce Training Center now offers the General Educational Development (GED) Test on computer, a brand new way for people to take the test and earn their GED credentials. Gone is the paper and pencil test that has been used since the 1940s.
Feb. 4, 2014 -- Philip Lister, Ph.D., chair of CNM’s Department of Biology and Biotechnology, is playing a role in helping eradicate superbugs – drug-resistant bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites that are becoming more and more dangerous worldwide.
Jan. 22, 2014 -- Help CNM make a run at a 2014 RecycleMania Tournament title while also lending a hand to the environment. More than 600 colleges and universities from across the U.S. have entered the recycling competition, which begins Feb. 2.
All CNM campuses will be closed and no classes will be held on Monday, Jan. 20, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The college will return to normal operations on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
Jan. 16, 2014 -- Next time you’re near the Century 14 Downtown theater at First St. and Central Ave., take a look 30 feet up on the east wall of the theater. You’ll see a colorful and captivating mural of Albuquerque's iconic Route 66 strip that was painted by CNM art students.
Jan, 22, 2014 – Lella Gandini, Ed.D., an expert in early childhood education, will discuss the Reggio Emilia Approach to teaching children and she’ll discuss an exhibit coming to the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science when she speaks at CNM on Jan. 27
Jan. 9, 2014 -- For the 2013 Fall Term, CNM presented 2,391 associate degrees and certificates to 2,021 students, both of which are all-time highs for a fall term.
