Information for students taking more than 18 credit hours in a term.

Students who take 12-18 credit hours per term are considered full-time students. If you wish to take more than 18 credit hours, then you need to meet the following conditions:

  • you have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 at CNM, and
  • you have received no lower than a ‘C’ grade in the previous term (a CR is OK).

If you meet those conditions, you may get clearance to exceed the normal credit hours per term limit from an advisor in the Academic Advisement and Job Connection Center at one of the CNM campuses.

Hint: You can find out your cumulative GPA and check last term’s grades by logging into the student registration system, and pointing to Student Services→Student Records→View Your Academic Transcript.
