Glenys Thompson is currently a Distance Learning Technician at Central New Mexico Community College (CNM). She is also adjunct faculty in CNM’s Business and Information Technology Department teaching both Information Technology and Business Administration classes.
Prior to her distance learning position, Ms. Thompson was one of two full-time Space Management Coordinators at CNM and was solely responsible for all of the space management at three of CNM’s satellite campuses and all external events. She came to scheduling from an administrative support position. Her first employment at CNM was as a part-time Instructional Support Technician, where she designed and delivered trainings to faculty and students and assisted with their class computer and laptop needs.
She is a two-time graduate of CNM in Business Administration (with Honors) and Technology Management & Training (with Honors). She graduated from the University of New Mexico in 2009 with her bachelor’s degree in Organizational Learning & Instructional Technology (OLIT) and in 2013 with her master’s in Educational Leadership.
Ms. Thompson became a certified online instructor in WebCT in 2006. She has taken many CNM Learn online classes at both CNM and UNM and teaches both face-to-face web-enhanced and online classes using CNM Learn. One of her personal goals in this distance learning position is to demystify CNM Learn so that faculty and students will all become proficient.
