Paws and Stripes 

Albuquerque/Rio Rancho based nonprofit that trains rescued shelter dogs to be service dogs for veterans with PTSD or Traumatic Brain Injury. Veteran must participate in training, which lasts 9-12 months.

Pairs veterans with trained companion animals rescued from shelters to help veterans heal emotional wounds after returning from duty. Does not train service animals, just companion animals.

Wounded Warrior Project

Offers a variety of online and in-person programs to help with mind, body, and economic recovery and health. Holds outdoor retreats, offers adaptive sports, health, nutrition, and recreational activities.
