Hoppin' John Cooking Demonstration (Part of Black History Month)

  • A dish with rice, black-eyed peas, and meat prepared by CNM’s very own Charniah Parrish, cookbook author and Associate Director in Connect Services. Black-eyed peas are traditionally eaten on the first day of the year for good luck. (Download the recipe)

Mexi-Creole Cooking Demonstration (Part of Black History Month)

  • Lekeshia Wilson of LeKesh Catering will be demonstrating how to prepare Cajun Creamed Pasta with Blackened Shrimp. Creole food is a blend of the various cultures of New Orleans including Italian, Spanish, African, German, Caribbean, Native American, and Portuguese. (Download the recipe)
