Professional Development and Learning Opportunities for CNM Faculty.


  1. Log in to myCNM.
  2. Click on the Employee tab in the left-hand menu.
  3. Under the CNM Talent Management section, click Talent Management.
  4. Select Browse for Training.
  5. Locate the Title and session date you wish to attend, and then click on Request.

    This will register you for the session, and you will receive an email notification with a calendar invitation.  You will also receive a reminder two days prior to the event.

Brightspace Drop-in Q&A Open Zoom Room

Drop-in to this live, open Zoom room, Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., to get your Brightspace questions answered. To access the Zoom link, open this CNM Online Drop-in Zoom Link document in SharePoint (login with your CNM credentials, if prompted).

Utilizing the CNM Self-Review Checklist

Friday, November 19 from 11 a.m. - Noon
This one-hour live remote session will demonstrate application of the CNM Self-Review checklist used for self-evaluating online, hybrid, or in-person courses. The session will include the roles and responsibilities of CNM Online staff and integration of QM standards to the checklist. Emphasis will be placed on applying the checklist to your online course design. Q&A will be an important part of the session so please come ready to ask your questions! Pre-register in Talent Management to get a link to the session.

Assessment Academy Workshops

Friday November 19 from 10:30 a.m. - Noon in MS 413/hybrid video conference
Live, synchronous sessions, either in-person or via video-conference, to support the different steps in the Assessment Academy Pilot. Audience: faculty/disciplines participating in the Assessment Academy Pilot program.

Session Agenda

  1. Overview: Recall the big picture – Where are we going, why we are doing this?
  2. Describe the current task – What do we need to do now, how does it contribute to the big picture, how does it build on what we’ve done so far?
  3. How to complete the current task
  4. Panel discussion from the core team for different perspectives and a deeper dive
  5. Breakout rooms
    • For collaboration on current task(s)
    • Community building
    • Critical reflection
    • As needed, for those working on the previous step or for those ready to start the next step

Transgender 201

Thursday, December 2 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. 

Have you attended Transgender 101 with TGRCNM and want to learn more? Come join us for Transgender 201! We will do a very brief review of assigned sex, gender and sexual orientation. Then we will take a deeper dive into nonbinary people, intersectionality and how to be a good ally. We will even touch on folks who detransition, what it means, and why people make that choice.

Attend Anywhere Classroom Technology

Friday, December 3 from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. in MS 313

Learn to use the classroom tech in the MS building. This session is for instructors who will be teaching hybrid Attend Anywhere classes or any instructors who might want to use an available Attend Anywhere classroom to teach their synchronous online classes or even just record lectures.  Come explore an Attend Anywhere classroom and gain confidence and skill in using the technology.

21+ Techniques to Maximize Learning

Monday, January 10, 2022 from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. at the STEMulus Center

Participants will learn and experience more than 21 teaching/learning techniques they can integrate into their own teaching and learning practices.  The session will model several of the techniques, allowing attendees the opportunity to experience, reflect on, and brainstorm applications related to their discipline-specific content.
