Universal Design and Students with Disabilities: What Works?

Kathy Hoppe, DMin (Disability Resource Center, CNM); Richard Jiron, MS, CRC (Disability Resource Center, CNM)

Sandia I, 1:00-2:15

Universal Design of courses serves a number of population needs, including students with disabilities. However, does Universal Design provide students with disabilities full access to course information, and does it allow for equitable assessment of learning outcomes? This session will address these concerns as well as provide instructors with ideas to employ in delivery, methodology, and assessment in making Student Learning Outcomes accessible to all students.
