Collective Bargaining Agreement for Instructional Support

24.1

The College shall continue to offer educational benefits to support and encourage professional development and career advancement among employees.

24.2

With supervisor approval, a regular full-time employee may use up to three hours per work week to take CNM courses. Such employee may be required to carry a cell phone and respond to calls.

24.3

A request to take College courses may be approved or denied based on department needs and the effect of the employees absence on department operations.

24.4

An employee with unsatisfactory performance may be denied this educational benefit.

24.5

Instructional Support Unit Employees are eligible for educational benefits as authorized by the CNM policy contained in the Employee Handbook.

24.6

Employees may request to attend professional development activities such as conferences, seminars, and workshops. Employees are responsible for initiating the request. To the extent possible, supervisors will disseminate professional development opportunities to their employees. Requests to attend professional development activities require supervisor approval and are dependent on funding and operational need.
