Cyber security and safety awareness and education is a critical part of protecting individuals, children, small businesses and our nation's critical infrastructure from cyber crime. National Cyber Security Awareness Month plays an important role in providing the public with key messages and events that will help them stop and think about their online behavior as well as remind them how to secure their computers, information and generally stay safe online.

Central New Mexico Community College was designated by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance/Cyber Defense 2-year education (CAE2Y) in 2017.
