Since becoming a full-time faculty member, she has taken on a leadership role in many ways. She spearheaded the development of the Business Administration Fast Track degree program, which incorporates Competency Based Education methods, and she is the Program Chair for the OTEC and PM disciplines.  She participates in many areas outside of her regular faculty position including Faculty Senate, College Curriculum Committee, STEMulus Center, Quality Matters, Business Administration Blackboard Community, Career Technical Education Day, CurricUNET clean-up, and Cooperative for Teaching & Learning New Faculty Orientation.  Additionally, Kalynn volunteers at Tea Time Distance Learning, Ronald McDonald House and Homework Diner. Above all, Kalynn is focused on students and keeps three criteria in mind: promoting student retention and success; supporting successful student completion and transfer; and increasing the number of degrees and certificates awarded.
