The U.S. Department of Education has adopted new guidelines for obtaining and reporting race and ethnicity data for employees of all educational institutions.

In order to comply with the new guidelines, all employees will need to update their information by completing a short survey that is now available in myCNM. In the past, employees were limited to choosing one category to describe racial or ethnic identity. The new method, required by the federal government, includes a two-part question that addresses ethnicity as well as race. In addition, it allows employees to choose more than one category to describe their racial identity. The is accessible in myCNM by clicking on the Employee tab. In the "Online Services for Employees" channel, click on the "Personal Information" link and the survey will appear in the window.
