Theatre Department Presents Short Plays Based on 3 Little Words -- Run, Set, Take

October 23, 2017 -- The CNM Theatre Department will present 22 short plays that stem from the interpretations of three little words – “Run-Set-Take” – starting Friday, Nov. 10, and running through Sunday, Nov. 19, at the college’s Coal Avenue Theatre (CAT).

The plays range in length from one to five minutes and were written by regional playwrights, including Patricia Crespin, Anna George, Casey Mraz, Stephanie Gillo, Kevin Peterson, Leodis Smith, Susan Erickson, Leonard Madrid, Jason Witter, Shannon Flynn, Magdalene Gallegos, Gregory Moss, Sarah Lentz and Jay Muskett.

“The words – Run-Set-Take – are three of the words in the English language with the most definitions,” said Leonard Madrid, chair of the Theatre Department, “The playwrights were challenged to write plays about their interpretations of one or more of the words.”

Performances are Nov. 10, 11, 12, 17 18 and 19. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m. Sunday performances are at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 each and can be paid with cash or credit cards.

The CAT is located on the north side of Coal Avenue between University Boulevard and Buena Vista Drive.
