TRiO Student Support Services will continue to receive federal funding to support the success of CNM students. The CNM TRiO program recently received a $255,505 federal grant from the U.S. Department of Education, the first annual allotment in a five-year award that exceeds $1 million.

The CNM TRiO program provides services like tutoring, mentoring and academic and career guidance to more than 160 students. Low-income, first-generation college students and students with disabilities are eligible to apply for the TRiO program.

"I strongly support TRiO because I have seen the difference it makes in the lives – and futures – of New Mexico students," said U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman.

This award to CNM will ensure that students with challenging backgrounds will receive the support they need to succeed in higher education. For more information about TRiO at CNM, call (505) 224-4375.
