Voters Decide on New Governing Board Member in District 4

Fifty-six percent of voters in CNM District 4 chose Mark Armijo as their new CNM Governing Board representative.

District 4 includes the South Valley and the Southeast Heights east to Eubank Blvd.

Incumbent Carmie Toulouse had been the District 4 representative for the past 12 years. Mr. Armijo will be officially sworn in as a member of the CNM Governing Board at the March Governing Board meeting.

A profile on Mark Armijo is scheduled to run in the March edition of Express. Mr. Armijo is employed as a Programmer Analyst for the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority and he’s a former CNM student. He’s also the president of the Governance Board for Nuestros Valores Charter School and he’s president of the Pauline Armijo Scholarship Fund.

Ms. Toulouse will be ending a very productive tenure on the Governing Board, where she has been a highly valued member. She currently serves as Finance Committee Chair and she’s a member of the Capital Outlay Committee. She’s also a current board member of the Association of Community College Trustees and its Public Policy Committee.
