Your Input Encouraged for College's Strategic Planning

The Strategic Planning Team invites all CNM employees to participate in the Strategic Planning process for the upcoming 2010-11 academic year.

Aug 25, 2016

The Strategic Planning Team invites all CNM employees to participate in the Strategic Planning process for the upcoming 2010-11 academic year.

For the first time, Action Plans submitted for the Strategic Plan should be cross-departmental and cross-divisional, targeted to impact our biggest challenges, and support one of the following priority objectives:

  • Adopt and implement systematic strategies to dramatically improve student retention (Student Success)
  • Position CNM as an integral partner in a well-defined P-20 educational system (Partnership/Community Building)
  • Position CNM as a recognized leader in workforce and economic development (Partnership/Community Building)
  • Persist on the quality journey to continually improve systems and processes (College Success and Sustainability)
  • Develop a technology plan that ensures cohesive planning, implementation and maintenance to support sustainability (College Success and Sustainability)

Please see the Strategic Planning Instruction Guide and Action Plan Form and join this important effort to strategically advance the priority objectives above. Please communicate with employees in other departments and other divisions, and discuss how you can collaborate on this college-wide initiative that will be instrumental in guiding the college's efforts in the upcoming year. Due to our challenging budget conditions and budget outlook, keep in mind that we will need to accomplish our Action Plans with limited resources. So please think about how we can be resourceful in accomplishing our objectives.

Just a reminder, when you start thinking about an Action Plan to support the priority objectives above, please use the "Plan, Do, Study, Act" (PDSA) approach to quality improvement. It is used widely at CNM and is a powerful tool to help you devise an action plan. To learn more about Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA), please take a moment to review these PDSA Reference Materials.

All Strategic Planning Action Plans must be submitted to the Office of Planning, Budget and Institutional Research by March 12, so please start thinking about it now.

You may use the Instruction Guide above or attend one of the training sessions to learn more about the Strategic Planning process and how to complete the Action Plan form. If you have questions or to RSVP to one of the following training sessions, contact Juliane Ziter at Ext. 4704:
