February 14, 2017 -- CNM students helped kick off this year’s RecycleMania activities on Thursday, Feb. 9 by participating in fun educational activities and sorting through recyclables dumped on a tarp to identify and remove non-recyclable materials.
Feb. 10, 2017 -- CNM and Sandoval County’s Office of Business Development have partnered to establish a new Digital Media Lab at CNM’s Rio Rancho Campus. The public is invited to attend an Open House on Friday, Feb. 17, from 3-6 p.m. at the Rio Rancho Campus, Room 104.
February 10, 2017 -- CNM welcomed more than 2,100 high school students from 36 different schools around the region to CNM’s Main Campus on Friday, Feb. 10, to learn about the wide variety of programs offered at the college.
February 8, 2017 -- Early-stage and startup businesses are invited to apply for CNM’s IGNITE Community Accelerator through March 3. The Accelerator, which will begin March 17, helps entrepreneurs gain the business skills they need to accelerate the growth of their fledgling businesses through an intensive, 10-week program.
Feb. 8, 2017 – The League for Innovation in the Community College today announced a $2.9 million grant from the Walmart Foundation to develop a three-part credentialing program for retail workers. Central New Mexico Community College is among one of 12 community colleges across the country to be chosen to participate in the program, Brighter Futures 3.0, which will build on the success of the Western Association of Food Chains’ (WAFC) Retail Management Certificate.

The Accelerator provides early-stage/startup businesses an intensive 12-week program designed to lift their businesses to greater heights while generating momentum for the region’s entrepreneurial and economic development efforts.
January 25, 2017 -- Get ready to ramp up your recycling efforts CNM. For the fourth year in a row, CNM is participating in the National RecycleMania Tournament with nearly 400 colleges and universities around the country, beginning Feb. 6. For eight weeks, colleges across the U.S. and Canada will report the amount of recycling and trash that’s collected each week, then they’ll be ranked in various categories.

January 18, 2016 -- “The Jennifer Century,” a poem by CNM English faculty member Erin Adair-Hodges, was recently featured on PBS NewsHour’s weekly poetry website.
January 18, 2017 -- Members of the CNM Deans Council collected gifts for two families and a total of 12 children as part of the “Heading Home for Their Holiday of Hope” event sponsored by the Albuquerque Heading Home Initiative.

January 13, 2017 -- CNM’s Film Technician program has recently completed a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training video with the hopes of teaching all faculty, staff and students how to perform CPR to save a life.

January 5, 2017 -- About 500 CNM students preparing for healthcare careers have benefited from a $2 million SUN PATH grant awarded to the School of Health, Wellness & Public Safety. More students will benefit from the program over the final two years of the grant.
Dec. 16, 2016 -- All CNM campuses and offices will be closed from Dec. 19 through Jan. 1 for Winter Break.
December 13, 2016 -- The new ground-source heating and cooling system and other improvements that are part of the major renovation of Smith Brasher Hall on Main Campus are expected to save CNM about $96,480 annually. That includes a roughly 33 percent reduction in electricity costs and a total elimination of gas charges.
December 7, 2016 -- CRIANZA, an early childhood business accelerator, graduated 31 participants on Dec. 3 at CNM’s South Valley Campus. The home-based early childhood business accelerator, called “Aceleradora,” is the second cohort to complete 40 hours of instruction with 17 hours of individual coaching.
