To make the most out of your experience with CNM Advisement, we recommend scheduling appointments. This will allow you to obtain all the materials needed for a successful visit.
About CNM Advisement
At CNM Advisement, our mission is to empower students to be active participants in the planning of their educational and career goals. We partner with students to foster lifelong learning, achieve higher education, succeed in the workforce, and make meaningful contributions to the community.
CNM Advisement follows the CRAFT model in the services we provide, including:
- Career exploration for a clear path to employment during your time as a student and after graduation.
- Resources, both internal and external, to support your academic and personal success.
- Academic guidance with course planning, major selection, academic holds, academic skill building, and more.
- Financial coaching, budgeting, funding resources, and improving academic standing for access to financial aid.
- Transfer assistance to ensure your earned credits count toward a degree at a four-year college or university.
Whatever your need, CNM Advisement is ready to partner with you and help you reach your educational goals and achieve success.
Get Started with an Appointment
At CNM Advisement, we recognize the many different expectations and requirements for each educational pathway.
Appointment Hours
Schedule an in-person or virtual appointment with a CNM Advisor during the following hours:
- Monday - Thursday: 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.
- Limited appointments and walk-in times are available from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.
- Friday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Tips for the Best Advisement Experience
- Have your CNM ID number ready to go. If you still need an ID number, please apply to CNM.
- Bring previous college transcripts, ACT/SAT scores, or Accuplacer scores.
- Determine the degree or certificate program you are interested in pursuing.
- Explore financial aid information and determine if you will need financial assistance.
- Compile a list of questions you may have for your Advisor. For example:
- Are any of my required classes available at a specific campus or time?
- Can I take any of my required classes online?
An advisor helps you navigate towards your education goal. Whether it is simply taking a single class or earning an associate’s degree, your advisor will partner with you to help you to identify your strengths and skills to create an individualized plan of action to remove any barriers that might come up along the way.

If you are currently enrolled at CNM, schedule an appointment with an Advisement group specifically for current CNM students.
If you are not currently enrolled at CNM or have been inactive for three or more terms, schedule an appointment with an Advisement group that specializes in new and returning student processes.
Online chats are a quick and easy way to get basic questions answered. We are available to assist during the following hours:
- Monday - Friday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.
- Saturday: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Online Advisement is available most days of the week, but not during CNM Holidays.
