Program Information
This Aviation Maintenance Technology program prepares you for certification as a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certified Airframe and/or Powerplant (A&P) Technician. Our experienced instructors will teach you the fundamentals of airframe electrical, engine inspection, materials and finishes, assembly and rigging, instruments, propellers, and a variety of systems including powerplant, landing gear, fuel, and environmental systems.
As a graduate, you will be equipped to take the FAA written, oral and practical exams. Students will apply theory in various hands-on activities. After passing the FAA exams, you will be qualified for employment in entry-level positions in the aviation maintenance and manufacturing fields, as well as other fields requiring highly trained technicians.

James Caswell
James Caswell was able to transfer the skills he learned in CNM's Automotive Technology program to a successful career as a mechanic and, later, an aircraft manufacturing technician at Eclipse Aviation. Even though Lexy didn’t have a technical background when she enrolled, she quickly found her footing and credits much of her success to her instructors, who she felt were her biggest supporters. If you have FAA Mechanic Airframe and/or Power Plant certifications, you can receive credit for courses in the Aviation Maintenance AAS program by filling out the FAA Mechanic Certifications form.
