  • Tolerate or engage in a verbal exchange that might be perceived as discriminating against an individual on basis of age, race, gender, sexual orientation, ability, or ethnicity.

Always…

  • Be polite and professional.

  • Confirm your learning objectives and schedule with the agency representative.

  • Ask for help from your supervisor or another staff member at your service site when needed.

  • Be punctual and responsible in completing your commitment to your service learning site.

  • Call the agency if you will be late or absent.

  • Be aware that you are representing Central New Mexico Community College (CNM).

What if the work you are doing doesn’t fit with the class?

Agencies are aware of the importance of the service and the related class work. They generally want to know about your coursework and will help you see connections to your class. It is important to bring your syllabus when meeting with agencies.

Having Issues?

If there is any issue that you cannot address, notify the Service Learning Program immediately so we can work to resolve it.
