Apply for the FAFSA

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is an application for Federal Grants (free money), Work-study (money you earn), and Student loans (money you pay back).

Many scholarships require the FAFSA to be completed and anyone planning on college, regardless of their financial status, should complete the application.

CNM has many scholarship options for both new and continuing students.

Our scholarships include featured scholarships, State of New Mexico scholarships, CNM programs with scholarship availability, and more.

Qualify for the NM Opportunity and Legislative Lottery Scholarships

The NM Opportunity Scholarship and Legislative Lottery Scholarship cover a significant amount of tuition and other fees for CNM students.

There is no application required for either scholarship; if you meet the eligibility criteria, the scholarship will be awarded.

Financial Aid assistance is available at Main, Montoya, South Valley, and Westside campuses.

Gerald Romero, Jr.

Gerald Romero, Jr. is a first-generation college student from Las Vegas, NM and was raised in Albuquerque. He began his journey at CNM as a non-traditional student and work-study in Financial Aid. He earned four associate degrees before completing his BA at UNM and MA in Educational Administration at NMSU.

Gerald embodies CNM’s core value of being connected, supporting students through shared experience, guidance, and a commitment to their success.
