Submit your paper by emailing it to the Virtual Writing Center. For best results and to avoid delays, include all the information requested below.

1. Please include the following in the body of your email:

  • Your name
  • Your instructor's name
  • The class (ex: ENG 1101)
  • Detailed information on what your instructor is requiring (not all teachers expect the same thing in an essay or paper, so the more detail you can provide, the better)
  • Specific questions or information about what kind of help you would like from the tutor

2. Attach your paper to the email, along with any prompts or instructions your instructor provided.

  • Please upload files as Microsoft Word (.doc,.docx) or Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt,.pptx).
  • We do not have the technology to accept shared files or links.
  • Students who submit files in a different format (such as PDFs or Google docs) may have their files exported into a Microsoft Word document for the tutor review.
  • Students can download Microsoft Office 365 for free
  • Note: You do not need to include the source material (e.g., readings, videos, etc. covered in class) in your submission. When an assignment follows the guidelines, it generally provides enough context that the reader shouldn’t need to access the source material. If needed, a tutor may request more information from you via email.

3. Email your paper to VirtualWritingCenter@cnm.edu. Be sure to include a relevant subject line (Tutor request/VWC submission, etc).

You should immediately receive a confirmation email that we have received your paper. Then you should receive feedback within 48 hours Monday-Friday. Papers sent over the weekend may not be addressed until the following Monday. If you do not receive feedback within the time frame, please email the Virtual Writing Center at VirtualWritingCenter@cnm.edu or call us at (505) 224-4000 ext. 54597. You can also contact the Main Campus TLCc at (505) 224-4306.
