CNM South Valley Campus

South Valley Campus is an integral part of Albuquerque's South Valley community and situated in a culturally significant area.

About CNM South Valley Campus

Located in one of the oldest communities in the state with a rich historical and cultural background, South Valley Campus is located in the South Valley’s Pajarito Village on Isleta Boulevard adjacent to the Rio Grande Bosque. Easily accessible off I-25, within 35 minutes from any location in Bernalillo County, the campus is situated on eight acres and is comprised of 44,373 sq. ft. of building space.

South Valley Campus is an integral part of the South Valley community. Residents were partially responsible for the creation of the campus; several local leaders supported funding requests from the New Mexico legislature for a campus to meet the demand of students and, in 1995, the campus opened in the former Pajarito Elementary School.

The campus connects with the community in a number of ways. For example, the campus hosts a YDI Head Start Child Development Center. Head Start serves financially eligible children ages three to five who reside in the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County area and includes a children’s storytime program between the center and the campus library. Eligible CNM students receive enrollment consideration at the South Valley Campus Head Start location.

Another example of campus-community connection is the campus’ Learning Commons, which provides computer access to the community for a minimal fee per term, as well as library services.
