New Students

Steps to sign-up for High School Equivalency (HSE) classes:

  1. If you are under 18, obtain the necessary paperwork and signatures. You must provide the Underage Permission Form in order to proceed to registration.
  2. Attend one of our online orientation sessions and complete the online CNM Adult Basic Education application. (Once orientation is complete, you'll be sent a link to apply for admissions and a link to fill out the required documents.)
  3. Take the CASAS Reading and Math GOALS Assessment by appointment only. Students must have a computer running Windows 10, a webcam and microphone, high-speed internet, Zoom, and have about 2 hours to test without interruptions.
  4. Make an appointment via email, phone, or Zoom with the Achievement Coach to register for classes.
  5. You will receive your class schedule and information on tutoring via CNM email.

Returning Students

If you have attended HSE classes at CNM before but are not currently enrolled in classes this term, you must successfully complete an orientation, and you may need to take the CASAS GOALS test again if your test scores are more than 6 months old. You will also need to meet with our advisor to register.
