ATI TEAS (Formerly HOBET/TEAS V Exam)

The TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) assessment measures basic essential skills in the academic areas of Reading, Mathematics, Science, and English and language usage.

Coordinated Program Entry Students:

We are now scheduling for the ATI TEAS exam. The exam will be taken from home on your personal computer and must be scheduled at least two days in advance. Please be aware there is an additional $5 proctor fee for the testing from home option. 

The scheduling and registration process requires that we know and have your ATI TEAS username. If you are a first-time tester, please create an account at the ATI Teas Testing Prep website and make sure to select Central NM CC AH as the institution. Also, make sure to email that username to testing@cnm.edu.

Programs Requiring the ATI TEAS Exam

ATI TEAS for Allied Health or the HESI A2 is required for entrance into the following Coordinated Entry Program:

  • Respiratory Therapist
  • Electroneurodiagnostic Technology
  • Veterinary Technician
  • Diagnostic Medical Sonography
  • Radiology Technology

ATI TEAS is the required exam for entrance to the following Coordinated Entry Programs:

  • Physical Therapy Assistant

Registration

  • The exam fee is $70.00 (payable at the time of the exam)
  • Textbooks, notebooks, paper, and children are not allowed in the testing lab
  • Scratch paper is provided and will be collected
  • Future attempts must be a minimum of seven days (168 hours) after the previous attempt.
  • There is a maximum of five attempts within a 12-month period. The 12-month count begins at the first failed attempt.

  • Credit card, Debit card, or Pre-paid card for a $70 fee

Test Sections

Pretest questions are integrated throughout the exam so ATI can evaluate their use in future exams. The pretest questions are not identified and do not count toward the score on the student's proctored assessments.

  • Reading Comprehension (64 minutes with 47 scored questions, 31% of exam, + 6 pretest questions that are not scored)
  • Mathematics (54 minutes with 32 questions, 22% of exam, + 4 pretest questions that are not scored)
  • Science (63 minutes with 47 questions, 31% of exam, + 6 pretest questions that are not scored)
  • English and Language Usage (28 minutes with 24 questions, 16% of exam, + 4 pretest questions that are not scored)

Assessment Scores

Students must meet the minimum required scores listed below:

  • Minimum required scores in Reading, Math, English, and Science can be obtained through multiple attempts; however, each attempt must have a minimum comprehensive score of 60.00%.
  • If a student reaches a minimum required score in one of the four categories but does not score a 60.00% overall, the attempt will not be valid.

Minimum Required Scores:

  • Comprehensive 60.00%
  • Reading 70.30%
  • Math 67.90%
  • English 58.50%
  • Science 47.40%

Scores are valid for five years.
