Financial Responsibility Agreement FAQs

All students are now required to accept Central New Mexico Community College Financial Responsibility Agreement prior to registering for the first time each term. The agreement outlines the financial terms and conditions associated with course registration.

Can I still attend CNM without accepting the terms and conditions of the Financial Responsibility agreement?

As of the Fall 2015 Term, it is a requirement that ALL students accept the Financial Responsibility agreement prior to registering. If the student does not accept the agreement, then they will not be able to register for classes.

What is the Financial Responsibility agreement used for?

Will my classes automatically be dropped for non-payment of tuition and fees?

No. If you have been approved for financial aid or set up a payment plan, your classes will not be dropped. Please note: If you do not plan to attend a course that you registered for, it is your responsibility to drop your classes.

Will I still be responsible to pay for my classes if I withdraw from my classes?

If you decide not to attend your classes, you must drop or withdraw by the appropriate deadline date(s) to receive a refund. If you fail to drop by these deadlines, you will remain liable for full tuition and fee charges. Deadline dates can be found at Parts of Term.

What will happen if I do not pay my student account balance?

If CNM’s internal collection efforts have failed, your account may be sent to a collections agency. You will be responsible for collection costs including reasonable attorney’s fees.
