What are CNM Navigators?

Navigators are your go-to people at CNM. They are with you from application until graduation to answer any questions you may have and help you to the next step in the process.

When you apply, you will receive a text and email from your Navigator. They’ll also email you from time to time with reminders and important information. Bottom line, the Navigators are here to help you navigate college!

Daniela ZamoraDaniela Zamora

Daniela Zamora was born in Mexico and came to Albuquerque when she was seven. She graduated from Rio Grande High School and went on to attend CNM. In college, Daniela saw that her peers often struggled with the enrollment process so she volunteered to help. That led to a position with CNM’s Student Services, and then to her current job as one of CNM’s Navigators.

Daniela, who’s fluent in Spanish and English, thrives in this position because she’s a problem solver and is willing to tackle anything you bring her (really). She also has a thorough understanding of campus resources so she can point students to whatever they might need. Finally, Daniela has seen the power of a CNM degree and is committed to helping help every student meet their educational goals, no matter the path they choose.

You can contact Daniela at daniela@cnm.edu.

Mark Jácome Salazar Mark Jácome Salazar

Mark Jácome Salazar was born in Albuquerque, raised in Las Vegas, New Mexico and earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at New Mexico Highlands University. Throughout college he was involved with student outreach programs in Northern New Mexico because he wanted to ensure his peers had every educational opportunity possible.

Here at CNM, Mark (who’s fluent in both English and Spanish) started in the Contact Center, which helped him develop an intimate understanding of the entire college. Now, as a CNM Navigator, there’s no question Mark can’t answer (or track down), whether it’s related to financial aid, academic advising, or how to find your first class. Mark’s door is always open, his phone is always on, and he’s more than happy to help.

You can contact Mark at mark@cnm.edu.

Student Navigators

The Navigators also have a team of Student Navigators to help assist you even more. These students have been in your shoes. They know what it’s like to be a CNM Suncat. You’ll likely get a phone call or email from the Student Navigators. Got a question only a fellow student will understand? Ask them!
