The U.S. Department of Education has implemented a new Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) system and process for 2024. Please be aware that you may encounter challenges when filling out your FAFSA for the 2024-25 academic year that begins with the 2024 Fall Term.

The  2023-2024 FAFSA is currently available. The FAFSA for 2023-2024 will use information from the 2021 tax year. The 2023-2024 FAFSA will be used for the Fall 2023, Spring 2024, and Summer 2024 terms.

If you have completed the FAFSA but did not request that a record be sent to CNM, you can still do so.

  1. Login to the FAFSA site, click "Add or Delete a School Code" in the FAFSA Follow-Up Step 3 section.
  2. Add CNM's Federal School Code: 004742

Adding CNM's school code will ensure that your FAFSA is submitted to CNM automatically. 

Buy Textbooks With Financial Aid

Books and supplies can also be purchased with financial aid at any of the bookstore locations or online from the bookstore website.


Beginning June 18, 2024, our Financial Aid Outreach team will be available for in-person support via walk-ins at the Main Campus Student Services Center located in the SSC Atrium on the following days:

  • Tuesdays: 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Thursdays: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Additionally, our Student Success and Financial Aid staff are available:

  • Monday through Thursday: 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Friday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Money Mondays: Virtual FAFSA Help

Students and parents are welcome to receive FAFSA help from a professional Financial Aid officer and other volunteers from the surrounding area. Money Mondays are held every Monday from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m., through July 29, join the Zoom meeting.

To better prepare: Create an FSA ID and password at

  • Planning to come to campus? Find out more about parking: Visitors are encouraged to park at the parking meters or visitor spaces or use the ParkMobile app. A single-day E-Permit or virtual day pass can also be obtained if you plan to stay more than three hours (the maximum time allowed at meters).

  • Both Students and Contributors must apply for their own login;
  • All contributors must complete all sections of the FAFSA and provide consent along with an electronic signature using their FSA ID and password. Consent entails an agreement to utilize IRS tax information for the FAFSA application, a mandatory requirement for the 2024-25 FAFSA.
