Article 9: Absence Without Notice

Collective Bargaining Agreement for Part-Time Faculty

Employees who are to be absent from work are required to call their supervisors in accordance with the work place practices in effect or instructions from their supervisor. Failure to follow proper procedures may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Failure of an employee to notify the College of an absence for more than three (3) consecutive days will be considered job abandonment and treated as a voluntary resignation except in verifiable cases of extreme emergency where the employee is prevented from giving notification by events beyond their control. Such resignation is irrevocable and shall not be subject to the grievance procedure.

All work place absences are subject to approval from the supervisor.
