Parking Services is located in the Public Safety (PS) building on Main Campus (map).

You have a few options for parking at CNM as a visitor. See Campus Parking Maps for parking lot details.

Meter Parking (Main Campus Only)

Meters are available at Main Campus and are offered on a first come first served basis for visitors and guests only. Meters are enforced Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 p.m. Metered spaces are free after 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday.

Smart Meters accept coins and credit cards at a minimum amount of $1.00 per hour. The maximum time limit for a meter is 3 hours.

Failure to display time on a meter may result in parking citations and/or your vehicle being towed at your expense. Paid parking permits are not valid for meter parking.

Meters displaying a red, out-of-order cover are considered free general parking. If you find a defective meter, please report it to Parking Services at (505) 224-4637.

Where to Find Meters

The meters are located in the following lots:

  • SSC/MS
  • TC
  • Central
  • JS
  • PPD
  • RPM

E- Permits

The E-Permit is a free, single day permit that you can obtain online by submitting your vehicle information. You can print the permit without having to visit the Security Offices. E-Permits are not valid for meters or restricted parking spaces or for CNM students, faculty or staff members.

Request an E-Permit.

Visitor/Guest Temporary Parking Permits (In-Person)

Visitor and guests are encouraged to park in the meters if your stay is three hours or less.  If you plan to stay more than three hours (max time allowed at meters) a temporary parking permit or day pass can be obtained by visiting the Parking Services office at Main Campus and the Cashiers office at all other campuses.

Your visitor parking permit can only be used in campus general lots, unless specified by CNM Parking Services. At Main Campus this includes the SB lots, (all lots west of University Blvd), and the BMX lot.

The UNM Stadium West and the Isotopes Baseball lots are also available for CNM visitor/temporary parking. You will need a temporary parking permit to park in these additional parking areas. Parking in the stadium lots are prohibited on game days and during special events. Your vehicle will be towed if parked in the lot during restricted times.

Special Event Parking

Special event parking and reserved parking requests are available only through Parking Services for upcoming campus events, special meetings, conferences or seminars.

CNM departments hosting visitors or special functions are responsible for communicating their parking needs to the Parking Services Manager. Please provide a minimum of 72 hours notice whenever possible. The request will either be approved or denied.

All requests must sent by email to parkserv@cnm.edu.

Failure to Display

Failure to properly display a current visitor/temporary permit may result in parking citations and/or the vehicle being towed at the owner's expense.
