April 7, 2014 -- CNM students with Associate of Applied Science majors or certificates in career technical fields can now transfer to Eastern New Mexico University, which offers several programs that can be completed online. ENMU representatives will be at CNM Wednesday.

June 13, 2013 -- The newly renovated Jeannette Stromberg Hall on CNM’s Main Campus has been awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. It is the second building on a CNM campus and the first renovation project to receive the coveted LEED Gold honor.

October 10, 2013 -- Between late April and July 8, Brian Henington, a CNM wildland firefighting instructor, was home four days. The rest of the time he was fighting fires, including one where he battled a blaze next to the 19 firefighters who later died in the Arizona Yarnell Hill Fire.

Aug. 8, 2013 -- Suzanne Porter-Bolton, a Central New Mexico Community College nutrition major, has been awarded a $50,000 United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) scholarship funded by a Healthy Meals Fit for Life grant. It is one of the largest scholarships a CNM student has ever received.

CNM employees Anthony Rael, Pam Etre-Perez, Tom Pierce and Christine Duncan were recently honored by the college for outstanding efforts, which included establishing an English as a Second Language class for CNM Operations employees and for organizing the disbursement of $23 million in financial aid to students.
