Program Timeline

Application for the 2024-25 term will open on October 2, 2023. Limited seats are available. 

Class Begins: Fall 2024
Best consideration: January 19, 2024
Early Acceptance: February 16, 2024
Application closing date: April 24, 2024

Teacher Residents (TRs) will be participating in the coursework as follows. TRs will be assigned a Cooperating Teacher.    

Fall Term

• SETT Program Orientation
• Nine Credits of CNM Coursework:
  • Curriculum Development
  • Assessment
  • Classroom Leadership and Management
  • IEP Management Skills
• Four days of on-your-feet co-teaching each week in APS

Spring Term

• Nine Credits of CNM coursework:
  • Emergent & Intermediate Literacy for Diverse Learners (Structured Literacy Foundation)
  • Foundations of Special Education
  • Special Education Law and Ethics

Summer Term

• Complete TESOL coursework
• PRAXIS Special Ed Core Knowledge

Fall Term

• Complete Supervised Field Experience (SFE) in their own classroom SPED 2390
• PRAXIS Principles of Learning and Teaching (Elementary or Secondary)
• MS/HS Content Area Teachers Only: Content knowledge assessment for primary teaching area (English, Math, Science, Social Studies)
