Program Timeline
Applications are now open for the 2026-2027 term.
Best Consideration: January 12, 2026
Final Deadline: April 1, 2026
Classes Begin: August 2026
Teacher Residents (TRs) will be participating in the coursework as follows. TRs will be assigned a Cooperating Teacher.
Fall Term
- SETT Program Orientation
- Twelve Credits of CNM Coursework:
- Foundations of Special Education
- Classroom & Behavior Management
- Emergent Literacy for Diverse Learners
- Curriculum Development Assessment and Evaluation
- Four days of on-your-feet co-teaching each week in APS
Spring Term
- Nine Credits of CNM coursework:
- Methods and Materials for Special Education
- Intermediate Literacy for Diverse Learners (Structured Literacy Foundation)
- Literacy/Language Instruction for ESL Learners (TESOL)
- Four days of on-your-feet co-teaching each week in APS
Summer Term
- Three Credits of CNM coursework:
- ESL Across the Content Areas (TESOL)
- PRAXIS exam Special Education: Foundational Knowledge 5355
- PRAXIS exam English to Speakers of Other Languages ESOL 5362
- ESL Across the Content Areas (TESOL)
Fall Term
- Three Credits of CNM coursework:
- Supervised Field Experience (SFE) in your own classroom
