Health Information Technology, Associate of Applied Science
The Health Information Technology associate of applied science degree program will provide you with the opportunity to gain the knowledge and technical skills necessary for managing health information within the health care delivery system.
You will study:
- Anatomy and physiology
- Medical terminology
- Diseases
- Pharmacology and laboratory procedures
- The scope of the health information management system
- The origin, use, content and format of health records and release of information
- ICD-10-CM and CPT coding
- Health care reimbursement
- Legal/ethical aspects
- Data analysis, quality and supervision in health information
The Health Information Technology accreditor of Central New Mexico Community College is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). The College’s accreditation for Associate degree in Health Information Technology has been reaffirmed through 2022.
