Program Information

Sometimes referred to as Industry 4.0, Industrial Technology/Mechatronics sits at the intersection of industrial technology, information technology, and automation. In this program, you will explore a range of industrial systems in classes that combine theory and laboratory exercises. Based on Smart Automation Certification Alliance (SACA) standards and curriculum and local industry needs, you will be able to earn industry-recognized certifications and micro-credentials as you complete the program. Students who pass the written test and complete the associated lab work can receive SACA gold certification. This program prepares you to work in a variety of advanced manufacturing and industrial settings.

This program is in response to community needs and will position CNM as a leader in training for Industry 4.0, industrial automation, electro-mechanical technology, and other in-demand and evolving industrial and manufacturing trends.

Amazon, Honeywell, Intel, and Sandia National Labs have a need for these technicians.

Construction Begins on New Trades Facility

The 61,000-square-foot facility will open in Fall 2025 and will house classroom and lab space for CNM’s Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Welding, and Industrial Automation Technology programs.
