Film Technician Program
As a graduate from the Film Crew Technician Program you will be prepared for entry-level crew positions in motion pictures, television and electronic media production. This is a 28-credit-hour program designed to be completed in two terms.
As a graduate from the Post Production Technician Program you will be prepared to enter careers in many areas of developing visual media production across a wide variety of delivery platforms and formats. This is 31-credit-hour program designed to be completed in two terms.
This degree combines the hands-on technical skills required to work in the film industry with general education courses suitable for transfer to a 4-year program, (will vary by institution), and focuses on in-demand, below-the-line skills including grip, camera, production assisting, sound, editing and art department, all which you can learn while creating and producing your own original work.
The degree can be completed in 2 years and is fully financial-aid eligible. All Film courses are held at the CNM Advanced Technology Center, home of CNM’s film studio and state-of-the-art labs.
Construction for Film
There is a high demand in the local New Mexico film industry for set construction and prop fabrication skills combined with working knowledge of below-the-line skills. Intended to be completed in two terms, this certificate combines a term of carpentry courses with a term of film classes, allowing you to develop marketable skills in both areas.
